Sin embargo, el clima fr\u00edo del oeste de Canad\u00e1 y de algunos pa\u00edses europeos no es adecuado para el cultivo del ma\u00edz y el trigo (<em>Triticum aestivum<\/em> L.) es el principal cereal producido es esas \u00e1reas.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando se compara con el ma\u00edz, el trigo tiene mayor contenido en prote\u00edna y menor en almid\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, el almid\u00f3n del trigo se degrada con mayor rapidez en el rumen que el <a href=\"https:\/\/dellait.com\/es\/tienen-las-vacas-requerimientos-de-almidon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">almid\u00f3n<\/a> del ma\u00edz. Debido a esto, las vacas en lactaci\u00f3n que consumen dietas con una elevada proporci\u00f3n de trigo son m\u00e1s propensas a tener bajo pH ruminal y m\u00e1s susceptibles de padecer acidosis cl\u00ednica o subcl\u00ednica.<\/p>\n<p>Un estudio reciente publicado en Animal Production Science evalu\u00f3 los efectos de proporcionar trigo o ma\u00edz en las dietas. El estudio, llevado a cabo en el Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, Ellinbank Centre (Victoria, Australia) simul\u00f3 un programa alimentario usado por la mayor\u00eda de los productores lecheros de Australia, en el que se ofrece el concentrado a las vacas durante el orde\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Las vacas se orde\u00f1aron dos veces al d\u00eda, a las 06:15 AM y a las 03:15 PM, y alimentadas individualmente durante dos periodos de alimentaci\u00f3n, uno durante la ma\u00f1ana (06:30 &#8211; 11:00) y el otro durante la tarde (15:30 \u2013 20:00). La dieta incluy\u00f3 10.2 kg de materia seca (MS) de heno de alfalfa y 12.2 kg MS de concentrado. El concentrado estaba compuesto por 1.0 % de minerales en base a MS, 1.0 % melazas, 16.4 % harina de colza extra\u00edda por presi\u00f3n y un 81.6 % de uno de los cereales (trigo aplastado o ma\u00edz aplastado) y se proporcion\u00f3 a las vacas durante los primeros 30 minutos del periodo de alimentaci\u00f3n. El heno de alfalfa se ofreci\u00f3 durante todo el tiempo restante del periodo de alimentaci\u00f3n. Como era de esperar, el trigo aplastado ten\u00eda m\u00e1s prote\u00edna (13.6 <em>vs<\/em>. 9.7 % MS), pero menos almid\u00f3n (56.6 <em>vs<\/em>. 63.1 % MS) y grasa (1.8 <em>vs<\/em>. 4.45 % MS) que el ma\u00edz aplastado (tabla). Las vacas que recibieron la dieta con el concentrado de trigo consumieron menos heno de alfalfa (9.1 <em>vs<\/em>. 10.1 kg\/d\u00eda) y produjeron menos leche corregida por energ\u00eda (23.8 <em>vs<\/em>. 28.6 kg\/d\u00eda) que las vacas alimentadas con el concentrado de ma\u00edz. Adem\u00e1s, el contenido en grasa l\u00e1ctea fue claramente menor (2.75 <em>vs<\/em>. 4.23 %) y el contenido en prote\u00edna l\u00e1ctea fue ligeramente superior (3.38 <em>vs<\/em>. 3.25) en vacas alimentadas con la dieta de trigo.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n hubo diferencias en los valores de pH ruminal entre dietas. Usando bolos intrarruminales, los autores (Moate y col., 2019) midieron continuamente el pH del l\u00edquido ruminal durante dos d\u00edas. El pH medio fue similar entre dietas (6.18). Sin embargo, el periodo durante el cual el pH ruminal se mantuvo por debajo 6 fue casi el doble en vacas que consumieron la dieta de trigo (633 minutos) que en vacas alimentadas con la dieta de ma\u00edz (334 minutos).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>En conclusi\u00f3n, la sustituci\u00f3n de ma\u00edz aplastado con trigo aplastado en dietas con elevada proporci\u00f3n de granos de (45 % MS) no es una pr\u00e1ctica recomendable. El almid\u00f3n del trigo se degrada r\u00e1pidamente en el rumen disminuyendo el pH ruminal y la producci\u00f3n de grasa l\u00e1ctea. En sistemas alimentarios en los que los forrajes y los concentrados se ofrecen por separado y\/o las vacas tienes limitado el acceso a la dieta, es mejor el uso de ma\u00edz aplastado en lugar de trigo como principal fuente energ\u00e9tica.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Referencia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>P.
